| Day 1: |
Arrive Florence and
either drive to Rendola, OR meet at Florence train station at
5.45pm and transfer to Montevarchi / Rendola. Settle in for the
week, have drinks, dinner and relax. |
| Day 2: |
|
Morning ride through
vineyards, olive groves, and woodland, passing near a
charming 14th century church and an 18th century villa.
After lunch at the riding centre, transfer to the Museum
of Tuscan Agriculture for a guided tour, or a nearby
working farm with cellars and working olive press. |

| Day 3: |
Ride to the picturesque little
hill villages of Ventena and Poggio al Cucule. After lunch a
guided visit to the famous frescoes of Pero della Francesca in
the ancient city of Arezzo. Return to the centre for dinner. |
| Day 4: |
|
Day ride in the Chianti
hills south of the stables, passing the Castles of
Cennina and Lupinari. A picnic near a lake where you may
be able to swim depending on time of year. In the
afternoon ride back to Rendola for dinner and the night.

| Day 5: |
A free day to make your own
arrangements for sightseeing, perhaps to visit Arezzo, Florence,
Assisi or Orvieto - take your choice! All are an easy train ride
from Montevarchi and you will be driven to and from Montevarchi
station. Dinner at Rendola (lunch is not included today but can
be arranged if you wish, for a small extra charge). |
| Day 6: |
A morning visit (accompanied by
your guide) to Montevarchi and its weekly market. After lunch at
a typical Tuscan restaurant, an afternoon ride of about 2 hours
south of Rendola, returning to the farmhouse in the late
afternoon. |
| Day 7: |
|
Today ride to the top of
the Chianti hills (nearly 2,500 feet) with sweeping
views of the region where the Chianti Classico wine is
grown. Visit two mountain villages, Solata and Starda,
on the way to a barbecue picnic on the ridge, riding
back to the centre in the afternoon.

| Day 8: |
Breakfast and either your own
arrangements to depart (departure is usually by 10.00), OR a
short 10 minute transfer to Montevarchi to meet the train back
to Florence. |
