An
adventure that has been specially organized
for ‘like minded friends wanting to travel together’ in far away
lands, …. meeting and spending time with people, who would
appear to be living in a ‘different Century’ altogether!! For
this adventure, our destination is MONGOLIA …one of the most
photogenic countries in the world, the land of ‘blue-sky’ and
‘nomads’. Knowing generally ,the views of everyone who would be
coming for this ‘adventure’, the Itinerary has been specially
tailored to provide an opportunity for you to experience the
‘best of MONGOLIA’, which would help you understand all aspects
of their cultural life. You will be observing their traditions,
festivities, and sports, with maximum comfort, convenience and
enjoyment… staying with them; and they taking your complete
care.

Mid-summer is a good time to travel in Mongolia and enjoy its
countryside, with gently rolling steppes between deserts, high
mountains and pristine lakes. The trip as planned savors
spectacular and varied environments, culture and ancient history
|
|
|
All Mongols you will find, have one thing in common, they are either
‘nomads’ or are ‘nomads at heart’.
They have maintained their unique way of Nomadic lifestyle through the
centuries; from the time they ruled the world. Even today, Mongolian
nomads tend their livestock and move for better pastures all the year
round,
living in
GERs -the white-felt tents…which are
mobile and can be assembled in a couple of hours; and which have not
changed at all, from how they were first put up in the 13th
Century! |
|

|
Themselves living a hard daily life and putting up with the harshness of
the environment, the Mongols take extra care in extending the warmest
possible welcome to visitors coming all their way. With welcoming smiles
they readily offer their traditional ‘hospitality -plate’, ever- ready
and laid out, filled with their dairy products - Mongolian tea, ‘airag’
- fermented mare’s milk and ‘arkhi’ - their home made vodka.

|
Staying with the
Tsaatans, in Northern Mongolia, we shall get to know their unique
living traditional culture based on shamanistic rituals. Lake
Hovsgol’s beauty is legendary and its water is pure enough to drink, as
we shall discover there. |
|
We attend two festivals, during the tour … the ‘Nomad’s day ‘…
where we see ‘live’ their customs, traditions, lifestyle, songs, dance
fests and religious ceremonies; and the specially organized ‘Mini Naadam
Festival’, wherein you will be getting a real feel of the Mongolian
culture and festivity, with all the usual competitions of the three
manly games.. wrestling, horse races and archery and have all the
opportunities to take photographs and video clips, as you wish; and from
much closer distances, than would be possible, if you were attending the
main Nadaam Festival held earlier in July.

While every effort
will be made to adhere to the Itinerary, as given; please do note that
some changes may become necessary due local conditions; and reasons
beyond our control. In Ulan Bator, we stay at Khan Palace (of course we
must finalize our plans at the earliest to get rooms here, during the
peak of the season).
Since we pass through BEIJING, a short Pre- extension, is also
available to those interested in seeing this City rich in history and
culture, the Great Wall, as per the Lonely Planet
‘If
your visions of Beijing are centered around pods of Maoist
revolutionaries in buttoned-down tunics performing exercise in Tiananmen
Square, put them to rest: this city has embarked on a new millennium
rollercoaster and it's taking the rest of China with it’.
